Question:

Fast drying cement or substitute?

My driveway is a gravel hill and there is a large drop off about 15-20ft wide, pretty much takes up the whole drive way, and its just where the cement stops and drops off kinda. Well my plan is to fill up under the drop off and just smooth it out a bit. I would like to use something that cars can drive over, but more importantly some thing that will dry within a couple of hours. There are about 10 or 15 houses that use the same drive way and I plan to do my work at night, as not to disrupt people and be in their way. Thanks!!

Answer:

the cement probably stops before the end of the property. The telephone pole is on the road edge. You do not cement there. It is owned by the city...so cement (which is permanent) is not allowed. Any reason you cannot get a hold of some 2x4x8feet long and lay them in the trench in front of the cement? Otherwise a diamond saw and chisel down your driveway closer to the road. It was badly poured, plain and simple. Or you could wait till it rips off the oil pan.
You have got to put in your steel-toed boots and stomp on it every three hours for three days. After that, you pressure your cars onto it, and watch them sink into the cement, after you cover it in quail feathers and let it sit for a day. PRESTO! Cement that's cured!
Try adding the cement to 1/2 the driveway at a time, allowing 3 days cure time. This will allow access throughout the process with only minor inconvenience.
