Question:

My earring fell into the wash basin and fell through the drain. How can I get it out?

Since I havenot poured in any water after the earring fell in,I think it might be stuck in the drain pipe.Any suggestions on how I can get it out of there?

Answer:

get either A: a magnet on a stick. or B take a shop vac and put the hose on the drain and wrap it on a hand towl. turn it on and it will suck it (and more) out
It may be in the &P& Trap...Carefully take it apart and see....If it got past the trap...Get yourself another set of earrings....That one won't be back....Unless you get lucky and it is lodged some where furthurdown the drain pipe
If your sure no water went in after wards... Here's what you do. Get a thick towl and lay it under neath the main pipes where it would have stopped, if no water went in after it. Carefully in screw the pipes, and it should be in there. Make sure you put the towl down, because lots of water will come out with the earring, even though you didn't run any water. Put the pipes back after wards, and you should be all set. Hope I helped.
under the sink itself, the drain piping leads into a trap. youre earing is in there. DONT RUN THE WATER. You must take apart the &S&. have a container under it when you take it apart because it is filled with water. Youre gonna need a wrench of some kind to loosen the slip nuts. Either a large pair of channel lock type pliers or pipe wrench should do it. the container should catch it all including the ring
There is a 'trap' drain under the sink where the pipe is shaped like a &U&. There are two large connection nuts that can be loosened and that section taken out. the earring should be at the bottom of the &U& where you can then retrieve it. Papaw
