Question:

my home made hydrogen fuel cell keeps overheating the water?

i made one of those hydrogen cells that you put on you car and git really mpg in your car and i used it on a trip and the water got hot and i mean real hot it was almost boiling i used baking soda for the electrolysis

Answer:

you just proved why it doesn't work, most of the energy is going to heat water, if you want hot water under your hood, just tap into the water system. If you want fuel, you will need to buy gasoline.
U wasted your time as it will not work. I am 78 years oil and heard that scam all my life ,and have never saw one work. The heat should give U an idea of the wasted energy.
the water will get hot. you need to reduce the amount of power going to the electrodes. what you doing is changing molacules so heat is produced.
it may be the spacing in your plates on the electrodes granted you are using stainless steel, also the concentration of baking soda in the water. another possibility could be the cleanness of the water, are you using tap or distilled? Check out the many videos on youtube
WoooooW!!! I have them on 3 personal and 4 company vehilces. 1st. If you did a homade system, finish reading all the instructions. 2nd. You need to regulate the voltage. You need a MAP/MAF Sensor Enhancer to work properly with Fuel injected cars. 3rd. You need to place the water container infront of radiator not behind
