Question:

my Kingston's New Lite SD/MMC Card Reader is not working with my SD 8GB card that says card is compatible w?

complete question:my Kingston's New Lite SD/MMC Card Reader is not working with my SD 8GB card that says card is compatible with SDHC devices only, what's wrong?

Answer:

SDHC cards only work with SDHC readers, this is because they had to re-wire the cards to achieve higher levels of capacity which they could not in the old chip architecture. So unless your Kingston card reader is SDHC compatible it will not be able to read the memory card.
any SD style card over 4GB is considered an SDHC (High Capacity) card and therefore will not be read by a standard SD card reader . your SD/MMC card reader is only compatible with standard SD (4GB) and MMC cards . you'll have to get a card reader specifically designed to handle the 8GB SDHC card you have there
