Question:

My oven burns the plastic off all of the family premade dishes that say to leave the plastic on?

The casserole dishes that say to put in the oven and cut a slit over the top for the oven, every time I do that in ten minutes it melts. Why? My other ovens didn't do that..

Answer:

Most of those plastic dishes are suppose to be used in the microwave, not the oven. The oven gets too hot. But NEVER microwave anything in plastic, always take it out and put it in a microwave safe glass dish'
Take the plastic off and put foil on instead.
you are to leave the plastic on to cook in the MICROWAVE OVEN not in regular oven as for microwaving in plastic, it is perfectly safe to do so. those who think it isn't, I do have quite a bit of Arizona Ocean Front property for sale, very inexpensive!
Plastic on the meal for microwave. Plastic off for oven. I would use foil covering. Most plastic cookware is fine for microwave. It usually says microwavable on the bottom of the container. I am 76 years old and have used microwave plastic for about 30 years now.
