Question:

My recipe calls for using a covered roasting panWill tin foil work the same or should I go buy one?

I am making a beef brisket in the oven and after roasting on high heat for an hour uncovered, the recipe says to cover the brisket and reduce the heat and cook for another 3 hoursWill tin foil work OK as a quot;coverquot; or should I go out and buy a special roasting pan? Or should I maybe try a glass Pyrex dish? I have covers for that casserole dishThis is for an important work dinner and I really don't want to mess up the dishThanks for the help!

Answer:

Tin (or aluminum) foil will work just fineAnd if your casseroles are Pyrex or oven proof, they will work also.
I have seen some in the front pieces of cabinets where there is a pattern formedI have also seen it in smaller objects, some older ones look almost like they used a nail to punch holes in a patternOthers look more like a pattern was on a board and the aluminum was pressed on itIt is a rhin sheet if pressed, thicker if punched.
