Question:

My Stoeger Luger .22 will not work?

I just traded for a stoeger luger .22 with aluminum frame and 4.5 barrelI spent the past three days working the pistol over, It got deburred and polished where it needed to be, I cleaned up the chamber and replaced the extractor spring, I got the action working very smoothly, the pistol will feed just fine if cycled by handUnfortunately when I took it out to the woods and tried to shoot it, it was an utter failureI used a bulk pack of federal ammoIt would feed but not extract and half the time the rounds would not detonate, though the hammer spring is very crispThe magazine is intact but wornI will try some different ammo later today, but I do not have much hopeDoes anyone have any ideas? This is a neat pistol but useless if it will not shoot.Help!!!

Answer:

You can also place it right on the oven rackIt will be a little bit more crispy though!
I bake pizza on foil frequentlyYou can also place it directly on the oven shelf for a crisper crustNo need to adjust oven.
Just cook the put the frozen pizza right on the oven rackI never use a cookie sheet to cook a pizza.
No first read the directions on the back of the Tony's box, then set the oven to the rite temperature it says on the box, then take your pizza out of box and out of wrapper then set the pizza on the foil stick in the oven.and enjoy.its the same way as using the cookie sheet except your using foil.
I had an old German made Erma .22 Luger that I wound up tradingIt only liked one brand of ammo and would not work with any otherThe Luger action itself is bizarrely overcomplicated and prone to all kinds of issuesI'm amazed it took the Germans so long to replace theirs, with far superior actions (like John Browning's designs) being proven decades before their adoption of the far superior Walther P38 Anyway, I'm only a amateur when it comes to smithing, but your failure to fire and failure to extract problems leads me to suspect the bolt face is not making proper contact with the round in the chamber.that is, there is too much space between thereThat was the problem with mine as I recall, although it been fifteen years or so Different ammo may have higher dimensional specs on the rimAlso, this could be a overly worn (or overly polished??) chamber/faceAlso, are you sure the action is extending all the way down and forward? If it's not, it would cause symptoms like thisWhy did you replace the extractor spring? Can you put the old one back in and try it? Is it extracting when manually cycling it?
