Question:

My windshield wipers and speedometer quit working yesterday (10 degrees out) . . . .?

I haven‘t tried them today, but just in case they don‘t work, could this be something as simple as a fuse?

Answer:

Must be a GM car check fuses and battery grounds
i'd put money on that it is a fuse
The speedometer usually uses a cable from the transmission, to the meter head. The meter head, the thing that you see as the speedometer, could also be bad. IF it is electronic, then yes, It could be a fuse. Windshield wipers could be a fuse, or a problem with the motor that drives them. The linkage might be frozen because of the freezing temperatures. The lubricating grease can get so hard that it refuses to let anything move. Try warming up the engine area with a light bulb, of 60 to 100 watts. Just the bulb with a socket, like the inspection lamps that mechanics use. Don't let it touch anything that it could melt, and keep it away from fuel lines. Just remember to take it out when you want to go anywhere.
