Question:

Need an idea for Ceramics class?

i need an idea. for ceramics we are creating a giant totem pole of human and animal heads. i doubt i could make a good human head, but are there any ideas for an animal i could make? not too hard either. i think we are only doing it this week. thank you!

Answer:

I love working with ceramics. If I were you, I'd try making a bird. A beak is all you really need and shouldn't be too hard to make. It will also be easy to determine what kind of animal it will be. What I would consider doing is finding pictures online of an animal with a front and side profile view of it and build it from there. Good luck!
Sorry, It is permanent.
For the glazing you could layer assorted glaze which motives it to create a dripping result. Or attempt dairy queen, an thought i learnt from potter Kristen Keiffer, you hold on with and layer a slip over un-bisqued clay, so as that that's thick (do not comfortable out the comb strokes), it creates a outstanding organic and organic look i could not upload any photos
