I have a 2005' built colonial 2 story house and we live on next to a lake, where the wind can pick up speed for 2 miles and hit us at 50 mph+I noticed on days like these that the rooms are draftyWe have 1.75quot; wide soffit vents that go all the way around the houseI know we have good fiberglass insulation in the walls and roof, so that isn't the problemWe also have a ridge vent, but its at least 7 feet high, from any room ceilings, so I would guess that this wouldnt be as likely as a problem??My neighbor said he had to seal the soffit vents off because all the wind and air was slamming into his house and sucking the warm air out through the soffit vents and creating a cold draft in the attic which the fiberglass insulation was ineffective at protecting against the wind causing cold drafts.Does anybody know if this is the best solution?Will sealing of the soffit vents cause a problem in my case?
