Question:

olefin vs acrylic vscotton chenille yarn for afghan?

I'm knitting an afghan with chenille yarn but I've read lots of conflicting information on which kind of yarn is bestCan someone help? Thanks.

Answer:

There are different kinds (quality) of chenilleYou may find you are going to have a lot of trouble with the poorer made onesHow do you know? Not always by priceYou need to check the weightFind out how many yards per pound there is in this yarnThe heavier one (fewer yards) is better made and will hold up betterThere is rayon and cotton and silk chenilleI've not heard of olefin or ackRlicthose probably are really cheap and poorly madeGo for quality since you are going to spend so much time making thisRemember that chenille will come apart quite easily if you let itBe sure it is knit or crocheted quite tightlyIt can't move! It likes to worm - it makes loops out of the fabricthere is no explanation, just that it comes loose and slips outIf it's firmly knit or crochet, it will hold together betterIf you are going to spend so much time on this, try to get well-made cottonIt will last longerRayon is good too, but silk (more expensive) is really the best.
A cryogenic box thingy? Or a new exciting torture device that I can put my next door neighbours and my Sister-in-Law into ?
fridge with aluminum, a person and oil inside.
I would say a giant can of coke except I'm not sure where the oil fits in
umm some sort of transportation device? train, plane, car.
