Question:

One of my windshield wipers doesnt work?help?

in the winter there was snow on my windshield and accidentally turned on the wipers and one of them got messed up .one works perfectly but the other doesnt do anything but sometimes it moves a little bit so what could be the problem

Answer:

flip up cover on base of arm/align wiper off position at windshield line and tighten the bolt thats uner the clip/its a breakaway feature that occurs
there is a rod that connects the two wipers together usually the side with the motor (on the firewall) will work if the opposite side dosent just reconnect the rod if detached or replace if bent or broken.
You have to be sure, whatever way you fold it or roll it, there is no short between the two plates, the two pieces of foil. But you can roll it or fold it however you want. bottom line, there has to be plastic between the two plates, and they have to be as large as possible.
If it moves some times it is not the rod from the motor. My guess is that either the wiper arm is loose, or the teeth inside the wiper arm got stripped away. The shaft is steel, and the wirer arm is soft cast metal that will easily strip out. Take that particular wiper arm off and operate the wiper for a few seconds. If the shaft turns the problem is solved, it's with the wiper arm. Sounds like a simple, and cheap problem to solve.
