Question:

One windshield wiper not working on Monte Carlo?

Hi, I have a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo and only one windshield wiper is not working. I have been calling around to repair shops and they are telling me that they need to run an electronic diagnose to find out the problem and that it will take an hour and some minutes to do that.I honestly cannot afford the cost of high labor right now. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Answer:

As most wiper systems use linkage located underneath the cowl panel at the base of the windshield and most vehicles use a single motor to operate both wipers my guess is the linkage has broken or one of ball and socket joints has come apart. I am assuming the wiper that is not working is the passenger side, correct? I would start by looking there, good luck.
How did he get the STD? Not funny.neither was your joke.
Ha, nice. Hadn't heard that one before.
My guess would be that the wiper arm is stripped out and you need a new wiper arm on the side that doesn't work.
there's a placing contained in the wiper motor that probable tangled up. similar complications take position with the mission trucks and others. In some casses its more straightforward to easily replace the motor then screw round with it interior. I merely might want to get one in a scrap backyard. especially uncomplicated to position in that variety wiper motor too.
