Question:

one windshield wiper working on a golf 95?

So yesterday it rained pretty badly and i was using my wipers all day on a vw golf 95 when all of a sudden my wipers went crazy and hitting each other i pulled over and reset them but then only the driver side wiper worked can someone please help me out on how to fix this problem

Answer:

Sounds like one wiper arm is loose on the pivot. If the arm will move with the motor turned off, then you can replace the arm.
Sounds like your wiper linkage broke. You only have one motor that moves one wiper arm, and its connected to the other arm via the linkage.
If they are hitting each other then the gearing mechanism that synchronizes the wiper arms either has a broken part or a gear has stripped teeth. If you're handy, you can head to your local junkyard and pull the parts from any MK3 golf ('91-'99) for a few bucks. Otherwise your repair shop can do it, but new original parts + labor will cost you more.
