Question:

oven cleaner to clean carpet ?

i had a pro come to clean my carpet and he said that there secret cleaning solution was oven cleaner mixed with water is this true and what is your best home made solution to clean carpets

Answer:

I think no. You should use a good carpet steam cleaner for your carpet to get best cleaning result.
Don't okorder It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
Most oven cleaner contains Lye, and can be corrosive in large amounts! I would just stick with a rug cleaner. Lemon juice will bleach out clothes and spots some times also. Might like to try Backing Soda and Vinegar. it will foam up and lift out dirt.
Steve, you should mention the fact that the cleaning solution was rinsed back out of the carpet. No pro would leave any type of cleaner in a carpet, as all pro's know how and have the proper equipment to rinse and extract. This is the secret to there success.
there is really no secret chemicals to clean carpet stuff at grocery store work but not that well if you want a good job you should go to a cleaning supply store and buy it there.the key to cleaning carpet is to suspend the dirt so you can extract it out with as little water as possible.there is solution out the to add to rinse water that lowers the surface tension of water so it does a better job rinsing.if you leave any soap residue in your carpet it will just attract more dirt and look worse then when you started
