Overhead Press?

Is it better to do the overhead press exercise with individual dumbbells or with a straight bar? What's the difference? Please provide a link if possible, thanx. I give every answer a 'thumbs-up' rating.

I never liked having to dodge the bar with my head and the dumbbells keeps the weight evenly distributed, can't cheat. Now go and press a few out.
i would say straight bar for military press(Standing). i do a sitting military press or shoulder press with dumbbells.
With the Dumbbells you utilize more muscles trying to balance the weight during the rep. also you will even out any differences in strength between left and right. Barbell is more for mass because you can typically lift more weight due to the fact that a barbell is more stable....similiar to the way bench pressing with barbell vs Dumbbell. Alternate between the two every so often.
i prefer to do it with dumbbells so i dont have to rest it on my neck/chest uncomfortably. Also, it makes you need more control to lower them down without shaking/swaying.
