Patch LED market conditions
With good market expectations for the future status of SMD LED, all the major manufacturers have launched their own SMD LED development planning and prototype products, all of a sudden, SMD LED market showing a flourishing and lively atmosphere of contention of a hundred schools of thought.
Chinese suppliers also offer mature, but less profitable two-color and trichromatic products, which are mostly used in backlighting, appliances, consumer products, consumer electronics and display. Despite low market demand, vendors continue to offer sideview SMD LED, including 335 (4008), 020 (3806) and 215 (2810)
Conventional monochrome SMD LED package sizes are 1206 (3215), 1004 (2510), 0805 (2012) and 0603 (1608). Chinese manufacturers can provide a minimum size of 0603, the thickness of only 0.3 mm. A smaller LED of 0402 (1005) is still in trial manufacture
Patch LED (SMD LED) is mainly used in lighting systems, decoration, electronic equipment, indicators, backlight, monitors and instruments and other fields. The decline in handset and LCD TV production in 2009 could affect the supply expectations for such components.
