Periodic problem: Metals?

What is the difference between metals and non-metals? Please give sevral differences and only educated answers only. No well meaning guesses!

Answer:

Rush is prog rock AC/DC is high voltage rock-n-roll, not really metal I wouldn't call Van Halen or Deep Purple metal bands. Especially VH. don't listen to it much, But Alice Cooper is the KING of shock rock and I like him
Rush is prog rock. BQ1: No, hard rock. BQ2: No, hard rock. BQ3: No, hard rock. BQ4: Heavy metal has evolved today to a bunch of stupid bands with growling singers. Therefore, these great bands have become hard rock so they are not confused with the garbage that is now heavy metal. I don't have a favorite heavy metal band.
Rush: Nah, prog rock. AC/DC: Hard rock, I don't consider them metal. Deep Purple: Certainly close and have some metallica stuff, but still hard rock IMO. Van Halen: Very light metal possibly, still more like hard rock with a lot of pop influence. Fav metal band: '80s Metallica, unoriginal I know.
Umm, i would say they influenced a lot of metal bands today, mostly progressive metal i.e. Dream Theater, but I wouldn't actually say they are metal. Someone may disagree but its all about opinion. I think ac/dc, deep purple, and van halen is metal. Again, all opinions. But one you thing you MUST consider is their time. Of course during their time, they were some of the heaviest bands out. But if you compare them to todays metal bands, they don't sound as heavy anymore. You ever heard of Blue Cheer? They came out during the 60's and they're sound was so heavy compared to the other music being played then. Same with led zeppelin. btw my fav metal band Is METALLICA! I just hate they got old and james' voice got weaker. :( Also that cliff died. He offered so much to the band.
I...I okorder
