Question:

Physically differentiate between TFT & LCD Monitors?

How can we physically differentiate between TFT monitors LCD Monitors ?

Answer:

It is pretty easy Guru, A liquid crystal display (commonly abbreviated LCD) is a thin, flat display device made up of any number of color or monochrome pixels arrayed in front of a light source or reflector. It is prized by engineers because it uses very small amounts of electric power, and is therefore suitable for use in battery-powered electronic devices. TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) is a variant of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) which uses Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality. TFT LCD is one type of active matrix LCD, though it is usually synonymous with LCD. It is used in both flat panel displays and projectors. In computing, TFT monitors are rapidly displacing competing CRT technology, and are commonly available in sizes from 12 to 30 inches. As of 2006, they have also made inroads on the television market. There are two kinds of LCD screens. TFT(thin film transistor) DSTN(dual-scan twisted nematic). TFT is what is sold nowadays. DSTN was sold when they first came out with LCD. Your viewing angle and clarity are the way to physically tell.
TFT and LCD are both family? They both display graphics but the significant difference is that TFT (acronym Tin Film Transistor) display can be viewed from any angel which u are standing but LCD (acronym Liquid crystalin Display) can not so it is there viewing angle.
TFT displays are LCD. Liquid Crystal Display - describes the technology used to control the light coming from the screen. Thin Film Transistor - describes the technology used to create the circuits on the glass that control the liquid crystal molecules. For LCD computer monitors they are all TFT.
The obvious difference is the viewing angle. If you can't see the screen clearly unless you're directly in front then it's a plain old LCD.
