is the pine bedding for guinea pigs harmful to them??
It can be irritating to their sensitive eyes and noses. I recommend Carefresh; I've been using it for my pigs for six years and it's the best I've used. It's odorless, dust-free and doesn't need to be changed as often as other bedding brands I've used.
YES, it can cause respiratory problems. I don't even know why they sell pine bedding for pets! straw works much better.
Pine bedding and ESPECIALLY cedar bedding have aromatic hydrocarbon (oils) that may be linked to pet health problems. I would not recommend it for guinea pigs. Try a product called Carefresh. It is not made of pine or cedar.
