Question:

plastic sprinkler pipe connections?

what is the secret to connecting black plastic yard sprinkler pipe so it does not leak? I connect the pipe to the hard gray plastic elbows by heating the plastic pipe, using thread and pipe cement. But even so, I still get some drips under pressure. I asked a plumber and he said, don't use that cheap crap. But this is what the entire sprinkler system is made out of, so I have to use it for now. Any suggestions for a perfect, leak-free connection?????

Answer:

Depends on the vehicle as some are better than others. It helps to have some form of electronic traction control which will help control wheel spin. But, if the back end of the vehicle is too light, gaining and holding traction becomes more difficult.
Like the first answer says. Also explain to your friend about insurance.
I would help them with whatever I couuld do and give my friend the time she needs for rebuliding of her home and just let her talk to me about anything that needed talked about
Offer to let them stay with you for a little while. If that is not an option, you need to give them some practical things like food, clothing, money, etc. But letting them stay with you at your house till they can get back on their feet is the best gift you can give.
There's so much you can do. (My in-laws lost their home to a fire, years ago.) If you can offer them a place to stay, or storage space, that's great. You can go with them, combing the site for items which survived. Metal and china sometimes withstand fire. Wear serious boots and have work gloves. You can take however much money you can afford and help them start up again. $50 - $75 spent at thrift stores (especially if you shop at several over a period of months) can buy a complete set of pots and pans, dishes, glassware, mugs, and kitchen miscellany. (Never good knives or silverware, though.) Or you could faithfully clip the coupons at the bed-bath stores and go every week, buying sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, etc. using the discount. You could hunt replacement items for their electronics. Used computers, TVs, etc. are for sale all the time, as people upgrade.
