Question:

PLEASE HELP ME: An atom with valences of +3 and -2 will accept how many electrons?

And how many would it donate during chemical reactions?

Answer:

before connecting the vent you need to get some soapy water that bubbles up real good either put it in a spay bottle or get a old paint brushthen turn gas on all the way an put the soapy solution on all the exposed gas fittings and the valve check for bubbles! vent just get some duct tape tear off into maybe 7 inch pieces and just keep sticking them on the flexible pipe and the back of your dryer then turn it on you may smell small amount of gas at first that normall let it run for 5 minutes go outside make sure it is venting Done
you don't need a clamp on the dryer ventjust push the hose over the nipple.
if you want to prevent issues further down the road you sahould install or have installed straight hard aLUMinum duct, instead of the flex duct, and u just have to play with it to get the ring on usually open the ring entirely up and then slide it on and boom its together, but seriously you should install hard duct.
Hi back at chaI have a two part answer for your two part question1.) This is toughI cannot for the life of me understand why the appliance companies do not supply more than 3/4 of an inch or so to attach the flexible ventI have installed a number of dryers and run into this problem every timeDepending on which type of clamp you are using( the hose clamp where you tighten a screw or the spring type where you pinch together two little pieces together to open the clamp) the important thing is patienceThe clamp type works best for me when I use adjustable pliers and hold the clamp open on top with one hand and use the other hand to slide the bottom of the metal ringI know easier said than doneI have thrown a few tools trying to accomplish this taskI am pretty sure they sell extensionsHowever, they are not needed to do this jobI have found it easier to do this with plenty of room, so I always hooked the vent up first before I push it backThen pushing it back is a challenge trying to not let it fall off againAs far as the clearance, you are right, they also leave little room for the clamp mechanismSo bottom line you first answer is No you are not missing anythingIt is simply a pain the a$$ to do this, but it can be done2.) Turn the valve all the way onLike most valves, the gas valve has less of a chance to leak when it is all the way on or all the way offIMPORTANT tip: Before you turn it on be sure you have used pipe thread compound in any threaded fittings you have installedTake some dish soap and dilute about 50/50 with water and then turn on gas and spray or pour the soapy water over all the gas connectionsThen watch for any bubblesGas is supplied low pressure (unlike water at high pressure)So there is no need to turn it on only half way to startI hope this helpsFeel free to contact me if you have a problem.
For instance consider ' Al ' which has +3 valency .electronic configuration of Al is 2,8,3 , so it loses 3 of its valence electron to attain stable electronic configuration similar to that of Ne ( 2,8) i.e to complete its octet .So Aluminium looses its 3 valence electron gains + 3 charge whereas, 'O' having electronic configuration 2,6 needs two more electron to attain stable electronic configuration similar to that of Ne ( 2,8) i.e to complete its octet .so oxygen accepts two electron and gain -2 charge
