I just bought a microsoft wireless laser desktop 4000. my computer will reconize the mouse when hooked up but cant find the keyboard
Have you installed the drivers from a disk that should have come with your keyboard and mouse? Or you could try pressing the connect button on the keyboard and usb dongle.

I also faced the problem. The further problem you are going to face is your computer will recognise the keyboard and not mouse. You change the pencil cell in the keyboard replace it and try. Actually my experience with wireless keyboard mouse is very bad. I need to replace the batteries in the mouse every 3rd day. Now I am using usb mouse. Whereas in case of keyboard numeric keypad is not working good.
