Question:

Please help with malfunctioning car alarm and bells!?

Suddenly my car alarm has begun to go on when the car is off -- in the middle of the night, or anytime! Likewise the inside left-front door open bell and light go on when I‘m driving even though the door is shut tight and locked! What‘s going on? How can I fix it? This is driving us (and our neighbors!) bonkers!p.s. It‘s a 2001 VW Jetta.

Answer:

Have you done local alarm installation (non factory fitted alarmas?) if not, I think the driverside door lock is faulty or excessive low battery voltage. If you can rún a diagnostic check for the central convinience system, check for faults like 'driver door F222 implausible signal'. If this is the case, then you need a new door lock. If not, your dealer can confirm to you the central convinience system need replacement due to software errors. We have replaced many of such control modules on such models due to similar alarm faults.Goodluck to you and neigbors!
Nice car:-D It's really simple. Your car alarm simply has faulty wiring or the alarm itself has gone screwy. Just take it to a volkswagon dealership and they'll either fix it for you or tell you how to fix it. Cheers.
Is it a factory installed alarm, or a aftermarket alarm? Regardless, a lot of alarms are rigged up to the door light wiring, so that if the door is open it triggers the alarm as well. Since you said your door open bell comes on at random while driving i am more willing to think this could actually be a problem with the door itself and not really the alarm. A short in the wiring to the door which triggers the door open warning light-and also this would set off your alarm at random as well. My advice, unless you are good at troubleshooting electronics take it to a professional.
Condensation should form, but not ice. Check your Freon. It's probably low.
