Question:

What is a solar panel?

Please, I want a good definition. :DD

Answer:

Solar panel is a battery of solar cells. Solar cell is a device which uses the sun's rays to produce electricity by the photovoltaic effect. The photovoltaic effect involves the creation of a voltage (or a corresponding electric current) in a material upon exposure to electromagnetic radiation. It utilizes the generation of a voltage when radiant energy falls on the boundary between dissimilar substances (as two different semiconductors).
Solar panels are used to gather solar energy from the sun. Solar panels help maintain a clean and sustainable environment; using solar panels to gather the sunlight is a type of renewable energy. After collecting sunlight, the panels convert the energy into electricity
The previous answer stating that a solar panel is a method of collecting, and converting sunlight into electricity is correct, however once sunlight has been converted into electricity, it has to have a way to be stored, so that it can be used. This is accomplished by the use of storage batteries. It is stored in a DC or Direct Current form, and may then be converted to AC (alternating current) through the use of an inverter.
