Question:

Pontiac Grand Am 04 Car Alarm System.?

I got 2 12 subs and an amp in my car and love them dearly (lol). Would it be easy for someone to break into my car or disable my alarm? What could they do to break in? Thanks in advance!

Answer:

all it takes is a couple of minutes and it may not sound ur alarm. All they need to do is bust a window reach w/out opening ur door and pop ur trunk and take ur stuff
The factory alarm system in the GM vehicles is called a Passive Alarm System, in their words. Basically, they can smash a window and as long as they don't open a door, they can steal anything out of the car. Once a locked lock is moved, whether manually or with the button, the alarm will sound, but it's just the horn and headlights. I had an alarm installed in my Silverado, and it's a simple system that works very well. There's a control box underneath the dashboard that senses vibration and motion. If someone was to walk into the truck or bump it with another vehicle, it will chirp five times to ward off anybody that might be near it. However, if someone was to smash a window or pull really hard on a door handle, it goes crazy because it can feel the motion and sense the vibration and impact. It's a Viper system and I paid roughly $300 dollars for it, but it was worth it.
Easier than you think. If they want your equipment badly they'll just smash the window. It would be wise if you didn't advertise that you have a good sound system by driving down the street at maximum volume. Having a system that large is a plus because they would feel it is not worth the aggravation. PS.most thefts now are for GPS devices.
