Question:

pressed powder vs free powder?

I have La Femme Hollywood pressed powder and Aveda free powder. One uses a sponge like material and the other a brush. Which looks more natural? I don't want it to look like I'm wearing lots of makeup. BTW- How do I know what's agood brush? DO I buy one of those big ones for the powder or a small one?

Answer:

Pressed powder is usually applyed with a poder puff thing, and will apply thickly but will last longer than loose powder. Its less likely to spill and will be easier to apply. Loose powder can go everywhere. It looks more natural and is thinner when applyed with a kabuki powder brush or a blush brush. They both have good points and bad points, so its whichever you like the best.
Loose powder looks better and more natural, use like a soft poofy big brush, small ones are for blush. Pressed powder can leave them face lines also known as the line of demarcation. where the make up ends.
