If you have an alarm system, set up a cord loop with it. The cord loop will have a non-standard plug, so nobody plugs it into standard power. The cord would run through the frame/structure of things you do not want stolen. A thief would have to cut/unplug the cord to steal it, triggering the alarm. I see such a system at equipment dealers and rental companies. Another option would some sort of G detector on the equipment, which wirelessly triggers an alarm when moved. Of course, motion sensor lighting is also a deterrent. Build a shed for the tools would be a solution.
