Question:

Pros and cons about living in an apartment?

I will look to rent out a house first (somewhere in the 500 to 1000 per month range) because I like having my own door, a yard and just the feeling of living in a houseI haven't lived in an apartment since my sophomore year of collegeWhat are the pros and cons (and whatever else you'd like to tell me) about living in an apartment? Is it noisy, can you always hear you neighbors? Thanks!

Answer:

heat to 425, and cook for 30 mins.
Same as white potatoes-400 degrees for about an hourIf they are large or you need them faster microwave fist for a few minutes each before baking.
yams take longer to bake than potatoes400F for 1 1/2 - 2 hours
Wash the yams off, and put them in a 400? oven for 45 minutes.
It will probably depend on what type of city you're living in, but here are some general thoughtsPROS: - No maintenance of the yard (mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, etc.) - May feel safer, especially for women living aloneMost apartments will have 1 secured front door, then your apartment door versus homes being much more easily accessibleIt also feels safer knowing you have a neighbor right across the hall, to the sides, above and below you- Less likely for solicitors to approach, again because it's less accessible- Check who pays for utilitiesWith a home, you could be responsible for all utilities, while in an apartment you could be responsible for lessNot a cut and dry rule, but just keep that in mindCONS: - Lots of neighbors, above, below, to the sidesFor social butterflies, this could be a good thingBut it also increases the likelihood of having a neighbor that is too loud, etc- You already alluded to it, but space could be more limiting in an apartmentBut some could be just as spacious, or offer common areas that are outdoors- If you live on an upper level, it could be a pain to bring in groceries, especially if there are no elevatorsThe trek from your car to your house is usually shorter than if you were living in an apartment building.
