Question:

Prove this chair isn't here?

So, if I put I chair on a table, and asked you to prove that chair doesn't exist or is not there, how would you do that? Or say, there is a chair on the table in front of you, prove it isn't there.

Answer:

This is simple. There are all sorts of ways. One way is to realize that it takes a certain amount of time for the light from the chair to reach your eye. Additionally, the earth is rotating, and revolving, as well as the galaxy etc. Now with that in mind, technically, the chair is not there when you actually perceive it, it is and was somewhere else all the time. Another way would be to take a microscope and look at the molecules and atoms that make up the chair. One can see that there's alot of space between the particles. Therefore, in a sense, the chair is a pattern that our mind makes up and not actually what it is underlying.
I can always use my abstraction function or thinking process by removing the qualities of a chair(i see chesterfield instead), or use universalization function by identifying the chair through commonality( made of wood, made with four legs etc), with a table, so i'd say the chair doesn't exist, but a table exists infront of me instead. It is all about using your thought process.
You cannot prove or disprove anything, therefore, proof does not technicaly exist. What people accept as proof is actually just what I refer to as universal agreement. Everyone will agree that 2+2=4, but if every stopped agreeing to that, you would no longer have any proof that it's true. If everyone were to just agree that the chair was not there, then that would be you proof that it does not exist.
it's already proved! not only the chair but the whole world doesn't exist at all :) all u see is an illusion, made by the movement of particles, and particles are basically made of super stings, and ... in the end there is nothing but energy, which comes from data,... the truth is that all u see is just an image in the mirror which doesn't TRULY exist :)
Well one might try to psychologically trick you and possibly convince you that you are on acid and that chair is only a mere conjuration of your mind [even though you can touch it] or they could go ranting on about how your impossibly rational and that they know its not there because they were pre socrates philosophers and your just a bus boy. Don't worry i believe that the chair is real. :)
