Question:

put on cold air intake makes no noise.?

i put on a cold air intake on a 97 cavalier. I had to put a 4 or 5 inch adapter to the throttle body to the pipe. the adapter is a spacer but its made of plastic then the pipe is aluminum. The intake doesn‘t make any noise. Is it because the spacer is plastic? If i get an 4 or 5 inch aluminum spacer will the intake make the noise?

Answer:

what kind of noise are you looking for? a cold air intake wont make any noise but if you put a KN air filter on it may make more of a vacuum noise.
I even have labored on alot of standard automobiles 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo SS Supercharged. in elementary terms situation A Supercharger Is Vertually An Air Pump! Forcing a desperate quantity of air into an engine! rapid charging a motor vehicle like a chevette
It's not supposed to make noise. Did your stock intake make any noise? No. And your stock intake, WAS a cold air intake. Just not as well flowing as your new one. Nevermind it begs the question: Why the hell would it matter if it makes noise or not? The point is that you're attempting to go faster, right? Who cares about sound? What'd you expect, a vacuum cleaner sound or something? Not that your cold air intake has provided you any extra power, but I doubt you'd care anyway.
