Question about aftermarket car alarm. Can you advise?

Just had installed an aftermarket remote keyless entry/alarm system for my 1988 Olds Ninety-Eight. This alarm is a shock alarm, meaning that if the car is touched hard, the alarm will sound. I know from other people's experiences that loud noises/big trucks/sound systems that might cause a vibration may set off the alarm. I am wondering this question and did not see it addressed in the manual: if the alarm does sound when I am not around, it will stop in 3 minutes or so, I believe. But is the car still armed? Is there any harm to this situation? Will the alarm reset? Thanks!

Answer:

it will stop after a few minutes its the law and yes it resets itself
Depends on the alarm. My Black Widow resets itself after a few minutes. The best sytems are the kind with a ignition disruption device, making it impossible to start the vehicle without lifting the hood to disarm the anti-theft device.
Most alarms have a built in NPC. Nuisance Prevention Circuit (or something like that). If one zone keeps triggering the alarm, it will not continue to do so until reset by the remote. All other zones will still be armed though. Check your manual
