Question about cold air intake?

I got a integra 01 LS automatic transWhat happen if i put a new cold air intake in my car instead of stock one? Does the cold air intake work for automatic car? if so.what brand do you recommend? I have seen on ebay but don‘t understand about short ram and the others. Is short ram better than the other? thanks a lot

Answer:

It will work for most automatic transmissions if your computer doesn't upshift under 4k under wide open throttle. If it does.there's really no point without getting something like the bm shift + which fools with your transmission control module to change the shift points. You should get a cold air intake, short rams just end up shoveling hot air into the engine.bad news. They're all pretty much the same when it comes to quality. Typically, I buy 3rd party stuff (made by individual companies non-name brand) because I'd rather they get the money than a big company like kn.most use local parts and have better customer service. All are pretty much handmade which can be a bonus or fault depending on the quality of their work. The reason I support these kind of companies is because these are the guys who are going to drive part innovation.if they don't get money from a community they'll stop building new parts for said cars. Typically the cost will be +- 10% of the cost of a mainstream brand. For hondas.I really have no clue when it comes to individual parts providers. Visit hondata's website and ask them for a recommendation or check the integra web forums.
here is my opinion and a lot of people will disagree with me. buy a KN filter and just replace it in your stock intake box. don't get the short ram, it will get your worse gas millage and your engine may run hotter than if you have the stock Intake because it will get the air from your engine bay around your exhaust headers . a cold air intake has to be long enough that the air filter cone has to hide away from the engine bay into your fender. so you won't be able to see your filter it will give you more air pathway and colder since it's located in your fender, but if any water manages to go in your fender through your intake , it may cause a problem ,. it's possible but not likely to happen. doesn't matter if it's an automatic or manual has nothing to do with it. all there is that you will feel the intake when you do high RPM.
E brake cable, E brake cable
Leave it alone and find something else to change. Every time someone puts on a cold air intake they come back here wondering why they're car wont run right. Just leave it stock. ^
