at a local place, it would be our first show and im just wonderng about how many songs they would expect us to play, just so i know. thanks
well, my band is playing our first gig tomorrow night XD we have 4 songs down, and we will be playing those 4 haha. depending on the time slot you have, only about 4 or 5. i wouldn't want to go on without at least 4 ready. just have enough to fill 20 minutes, at least :D
your band should know at least 20 songs, im not saying youll play them all but its good to have them eady in case you do need to play them all
Well, duh, how long do they want you to play? Most first shows are about 4 songs my first was an all nighter at a bar that lasted about 8 hours (10PM to 6AM)
If you're playing a bar, the set will ordinarily be about 45 minutes. That's pretty standard at places that have live, electric music and multiple acts playing the same night. But if it's a coffee house or somewhere quieter where you'll be the only band, they'll probably expect about 90 minutes of material. Not sure how many songs that would be, but it's a good guideline.
