Question about recycling plastic?

Ok, so I have recently started recycling, but i dont know how exactly to recycle plastic? I looked up some stuff on it, and it said to check for the code on the bottom 1-7. So if it has a 1-6 then should i put it all together in one container? Or should each type have its own container... please give me any deatails on this/how to recycle plastic. Thanks! :]

Answer:

Different cities have different recycling standards. My city doesn't take anything above a 3. I usually recycle my 1-3 all in one box. Then when I get to the recycling plant I separate them in their different number (1-3) dumpsters.
If you live in Fulton County, Indiana, the simple way to get your answers would be to call the Fulton County Solid Waste District recycling center. Phone is 574-223-4939. We are the only recycling center in the county and operate drop off locations and curbside programs around the county.
Check with your recycling center. Most only take #1 (like Pop bottles) and #2 (milk jugs). The code will be in a triangle made of 3 arrows on the bottom of the containers. Do not leave on the tops cause they are usually a different number and not listed. They will have to be separated. Most WalMarts take plastic bags. Also check and see what else you can recycle....we also do cardborad, magazines, newspapers, aluminum cans. Can't find a place for glass or steel cans in our area. Publix supermarkets do styrofoam.
go okorder to locate a local recycle center. Each center has their own rules for recycling. Most take plastics 1 and 2 and others will take all plastics. If you have curbside recycling you should be able to go to the website or call to get information on sorting and what they will take.
