Question of Hooking up Ps3 to LCD monitor?

I was wanting to hook up my ps3 to my HP VS17E 17 LCD Monitor and I was wondering what Exactly would i need, any help is appreciated.

Answer:

ps3 would not use VGA, so which you have that slot open to apply with your workstation or different issues. you pick an HDMI cable and your set. you're able to purchase HDMI cables from amazon for below $2
First okorder
Don't do it. You would have to spend 60 dollars on those converter boxes the above gentleman linked to, but they can only give you a really crappy picture, which defeats the purpose of you spending all that money on that PS3 in the first place. Just buy an HDMI-equipped monitor. Those can be directly connected to the PS3, and they will give far better image quality than a converter box and that old piece-of-crap monitor you got. A far more cost-effective solution.
hey long time no see! anywho i looked at the tech specs of your monitor. it said the video input was a Analog Video Input Connector. unfortunatly their is no type of ps3 AVI cable. plus an AVI connection only supports video. to transmit audio you would need pc audio cables which ps3 does not support. sorry dude. the only type of cables for ps3 is hdmi, a/v cable (red white yellow) and s-video.
