Question:

Radar Detector false alarms?

Does anyone ever have false alarms on their radar detector? i have a Cobra ESD-7000, and it works really good when their are cops. (no speeding tickets to my name, well not yet..) anyways, about 3 times the Laser detector has went off when i am just starting to pass someone, just after i press down the accelerator. It freaks me out, so i go back were i was, and then . guess what.. no cop! it is so annoying. is it this radar detector? is it somehow detecting the acceleration? it the energy bouncing off the car ahead? i am lost, and can't find anything on the net if anyone has a clue please let me know. thanks. (and for everyone else that says i shouldn't speed, i am not a crazy driver, no accidents, i go 5-15 mph over the speed limit so don't say anything negative.) just informative answers please

Answer:

sounds like a wiring problem does lock if you try it with the key, if not then then the hatch lock on the inside of the trunk may be broken
I don't really get the question.. Google it? Here is a picture of lights on a motorway.. /imgres?qstreetl
Yes that's fine. You should also use 2nd gear start when it's snowing for less wheel spin. That way you don't have too much torque on the wheels with power. 2nd gear 5mph in my car is about 1100rpm, just close to idle so not really putting a lot of strain there.
