Question:

Raid Wasp and Hornet spray on my ceiling and wall.?

There was a giant fly in my basement, so I used the Raid Wasp and Hornet spray to kill it. I shook the can very well, but the Raid still sprayed in a thick stream. The Raid got all over my ceiling, almost in a spiral fashion. It also got on my wall. How can I get rid of it WITHOUT using paint and/or things that I would have to go buy. Water on a paper towel sort of worked, but not that much. Will this cause permanent damage?PETS: For those pet lovers out there, I made sure both of my cats are upstairs and not near the Raid or where it was sprayed. Also, a little bit got on my microfiber couch. Can I fix that?Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks so much!

Answer:

The major ingredient in Raid after the toxins is a very light mineral oil - Stoddard Solvent, to be precise, exactly the same material as WD-40. The other ingredients are either volatile propellants or tiny fractions by weight. You may remove it with any mild detergent - dish soap in warm water for your walls and a micro-fiber compatible upholstery cleaner for your couch. Any residual materials will eventually evaporate but that may take several days. Further, the mineral oil will attract dust and act as a solvent for it with the potential for permanent staining if you do not deal with it immediately. I strongly suggest that you invest in a kit proper to the material on your couch. On the tag it will be marked with W, S, or W/S which tell you whether compatible cleaners are water or solvent based or either. You will be able to use it more than once. Next time use a fly-swatter or a plant mister. Both work just fine.
No evaluate spraying window seals and door frames till the wasp is sitting on one in all them. Raid needs to land on the computer virus as a manner to kill it. in case you preserve spraying your abode, you will inhale the vapour from the Raid and that would desire to reason you discomfort, to no longer point out having to post with the stink.
