Answer:

McAllen could be very virtually the Mexico border. I had a pal that develop up there and he stated that there don't seem to be many roles there and crime cost is top. I bet you get what you pay for more often than not.
The real estate school only give you certificate but for becomes a good broker you have to join any company i mean to say real estate company that give you proper training. The best real estate company is kalra realtors it is awarded by many view in real estates .
The real estate schools teach you to pass the state licensing exam and you actually learn how to do the job from the Broker that hires you. Beware that you don't get paid until a property you list or sell closes escrow and in the meantime you have expenses to cover( ie office expense, cellphone, car and gas, advertising, mailings etc etc). Some new agents do not see a paycheck for 6mos to a year from their start date. Good Luck
I would suggest you contact the Board of Realtors in your area and ask if they have a program or independent school you can attend. You can also take online classes and college does have classes too. This isn't an easy career but once you get established you can go far. Wanting to get educated in real estate so you and your husband can buy a home is one thing but to be educated just to be educated is something else. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discourage you at all. If this is what you want then by all means go for it. This is not an 9 to 5 job though, it can be 24/7 and you will end up working nights and weekends too. Certification in real estate is very different than being licensed. Certification means you passed an open book test in Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice and an elective. Then you pretest before you take the state exam.
No real estate school is going to make you confident in doing this job. Any real estate school preps you to pass the state licensing exam, it does not prepare you to do real estate in the real world. Real estate is unique as it is a job you actually pay to do, usually for quite a while. There is a new agent in my office that has routinely complained that it took him about $3,000 to get started and is frustrated that business is just not falling in his lap. Most agents leave the business within 6 months without a sale. The vast majority leave within 2 years. It is tough and you have to bring it to be succesful.
