Question:

Red Outline on Tires?

Well, I have seen tires with a red outline right near the rim, going around the tire. The tire is black, but with that bright red outline, it makes it look really great, so does anyone know where to get this, or have any information on this, via websites, experience, etc? thanks-dat

Answer:

No. Unless you put concrete backer board over the vinyl first, then the tiles onto the backer board. The only problem with this is that you would be raising your floor by an inch or so, and could run into problems with door jambs, molding, transitions, etc.
We had our kitchen redone with ceramic tiles. The company we hired (very good reputation) used a couple thousand floor screws, leveled the floor, applied the adhesive and tiled over top. After 3 years, there is not a crack in the grout - and no tile has moved. So - yes
its kind of sad but ive seen people take the white wall tire and paint it red or different colors.for the cheap way. or if you see that car again find out what kind of tire and look it up on the net.
Coker tire owns the molds to the original Firestone Redline tires that you may be referring to. Coker sells redlines under Firestone, BFG, and Coker Classic brand names. Go to their website and enter redline in the search box. BFGoodrich also made a tire at one time that had red, blue, or yellow stripes in the tread area of the tire!
