Question:

Refried black beans How do I do this High fiber diet.?

I boiled black beans yesterday and had to put in a liquid so they would blend in the CusinartI used an enchillada sauce and wasn't thinking as I could have used chicken stockThey tasted wonderful, butthe consistency of the refried pinto bean was not thereIt was more of a gritty texture and quot;notquot; smooth like refried beans from the can.The Cusinart does not make them like a smooth pasteI have a hand mixer to puree foods and wonder if that would work.I am trying a high fiber diet, unfortunately it will be high in carbs with the beansI'm not sure if this will work, but being tired of Atkins I will try something newI read that the high fiber foods do not absort into the blood stream like bad carbs would do - which I do not eatI am diabeted and need to lose more weightMy blood sugar level is always normal, it is just hard to lose weight.Thank you.

Answer:

the secret is portion controllcarbs are just naturally more readily absorbed than proteinstherefore they will cause more fluctuations in blood sugar levels.beans are a good source of both carbs and proteinjust watch the portion sizes
I just wish people would eat less gassy foods if they are going to ride the elevator at work with me and destroy our elevator environmentYes its only 11 floors but if they let one lose on the first floor its sure a long ride.
Letting my lawn growUntil I can afford to pay someone to mow it, anywaySwatting mosquitoes: they spread bird fluand when birds die, well, they just stink up the area where they fall out of the skyUhhhh, ok, I eat hamburgerswhich encourages the destruction of cows, whom we all know are responsible for burning up the ozone with their methane-empowered belchesKicking dandelion headsso they'll grow everywhereso I can pick 'em and feed 'em to my rabbitHmmmmOh, and I haven't washed my car in ageswhich, of course, saves water.
What destruction of our environment? SeriouslyWarming is not destruction, and it's likely that the warming is naturalThe planet (and the sun, by the way) warms and cools in cyclesAlways hasNo matter what a fat, bitter politician says.
Can I first say that whether or not there is global warming or climate change, it is only right that we should do everything reasonable to ensure that our environment is as pristine as it is possibleIsn't it better to breathe clean air, drink unpolluted water and eat clean food? To that end we have converted to more efficient lighting and reduced our water consumption by nearly 50% as well as reducing our use of plastic bags by 90%Not much I admit but it's a start.
