Question:

Remote keyless entry on non-power lock card?

i want to get a remot keyless entry on my 1999 plymouth breeze. unfortunately it doesnt support power lock, and im upset. is there anyway i could still get the system on it? could i buy a kit from wal mart or best buy, or take it to a dealer? do i have to change my doors? how much would that cost? someone please help, thanks

Answer:

Some smoke detectors require both 120v household power and battery power for backup I suppose. That maybe the case for you. If you want to investigate . and are sure you wont break something.check to see if it has another source of power.
We don't have a gas fireplace but had a sort of similar situation last month. Our furnace is somewhat broken and we had sub-zero temps. It would drop to -15 easily at night. We have what we call a Fonzie furnace. The fan is broken, meaning, it won't come on without a good whack! Anyway, because it won't kick on by itself, we were and still are unable to have it hold a temperature. So, the nights it was ultra freezing, we cranked it until the temp in the house was ridiculously hot, one night to 80 degrees! I know, this may sound crazy or excessive, but it beat having busted pipes in the morning!! We basically had it cranked until close to midnight then shut it off. If staying up late isn't feasible, you could also try setting an early alarm to turn on your gas fireplace to warm things up. One night, we just couldn't stay up late so this worked out fairly well too. That would be my suggestion and perhaps the safest option instead of keeping your fireplace on all night. Better to be safe than sorry. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. Good luck, and stay warm :).
