Question:

Removing ball joint stud from knuckle?

Got a 1995 Ford Thunderbird, the lower ball joint snapped off where it goes into the boot. I have gotten the control arm off the car but the stud is still stuck in the knuckle. Beat on it and beat on it, it wont budge. Any suggestions? I have to get this car home quick, luckily it is just up the street from my house off the main roads.

Answer:

speed bumps, steep driveways, etc are now your enemy. learn to attack them at an angle instead of driving straight into them. it'll take some practice. and it won't work on everything.
First thing to go is the end link. But have you replaced struts? If not, you're WAYYYY overdue-although with 250K it may not be worth the cost. End links are cheap tho. Like $40 ea
I have a Camaro and its pretty low so i usually going into driveways, dips, etc at a angle.
