Question:

Removing Cat Urine Odour From Carpet?

I've moved into a new apartment and have discovered that the carpet REEKS of cat urine! I've tried odour neutralizers in the carpet, as well as powders and baking soda...nothing is working!! What do I do?!

Answer:

There is a product called Nature's Miracle that is pretty good at removing cat urine smell. You can get it at Petco and Petsmart if you're in the States. Nature's Miracle is really the only thing that I've found to work but not always. You may want to try a professional carpet cleaning company too. If the smell is really bad and set in in the carpet you may be forced to remove the carpet all together. Cat urine smell can be very, very hard to get out. I would contact the landlord ASAP and ask him to fix the problem. He should either send a company to clean your carpet or put in a new carpet. You shouldn't have to live with a carpet that reeks of cat pee. If he doesn't fix it it could be reason enough to break the lease.
Nature's Miracle. Get it at pet supply stores, safe to use on most fabrics, works great.
Try Natures Miracle. The Bottle is Red and White and a bit pricey. It is available at the pet store such as Pet Smart. And it has a money back guarantee. xoxo
Nature's Miracle, found at pet stores................but, if it's really deep down in the padding, you may be S.O.L no matter what you try. If it's really bad, tell your landlord he has to replace the carpeting because it's making you sick from the smell. And that's what burns me up about some stupid cat owners. They're the ones that give CATS a bad name. There are no smelly, dirty cats. There's only bad cat OWNERS. And the reason alot of landlords won't even allow pets in the first place. But, yea, I'd be talking to that landlord if it's getting to you. You're not paying rent to be made sick.
