I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. While attempting to do laundry earlier today, I didn't notice that my washer never shut off.. So it kept filling until I noticed my dining room/kitchen room were flooded. I immediately shut the water off. The neighbors below came to my door stating that the water had leaked into their apartment. The question im having is quot;Is it necessary to have the carpet replaced?quot; I have a two year old, and after doing some research I learned that mold could build up, which is something I dont want.Also when the maintenance people came they tracked my carpet with mud and who knows what else when trying to fix my washer.My apartment wont just give me new carpet so Im trying to get some advice in whether or not I should fight for new carpet.
