Question:

replaced my hitch on my f150 now my turn signals dont work and my ABS light is on in my dash?

i just replaced my whole hitch on the back end on my ford f150 and i accidently snaged a wire while i was tighting a bolt and crimped the wire. now my turn signals dont work and the ABS lights are on in my dash. i took the hitch off and fixed the wire but the symptons still exist. do i need to have advanced auto parts reset something? or it more serious

Answer:

may be you have left a ground open and not connected the wheel speed sensor connector
once you short out the system (or interupt the circuit like you did the system needs to reset itself, or you go somewhere and have it done, if your turn signals are out and the abs light is on, you damaged something somewhere and you need to find out what and fix it. Grounding a hot wire like you did caused a dead short somewhere.
check for a burnt fuse for the signal problem. you may be able to pull the abs fuse to reset it's computer but you may need to take it to a shop so it can be reset with a scan tool
