Question:

Replacing a bathroom vanity cabinet?

We are replacing our 42" vanity cabinet with 36 " vanity cabinet. I would like to place the left side of the cabinet flush against the wall, but my husband feels it is important to center it on the existing plumbing... This would mean we would have a 3" gap on the left side between the wall and cabinet. Is centering the cabinet on the plumbing the only way ? I just dont think that will look right.

Answer:

I think its better to hire a professional to design a layout for you.
If ply wood will fulfill you, cut back the door out of two area good birch plywood. in case you will use dimensional lumber, use what you choose, yet do no longer use Bass wood or poplar or pine. i wish you already know what you're doing.
If you do not centre it with the plumbing, the drain, hot and cold piping will have to be extended and this will likely use extra space inside the cabinet. You already are losing 6 inches of storage space in the cabinet. Place a towel rack on that side so the towels hang down ito the 3 inch space.
