Question:

Replacing a kitchen faucet?

I am replacing my kitchen faucet and I have a garbage disposal in front of it. Should I remove the garbage disposal or just work around it?

Answer:

they sell a basin wrench, a long shaft with a swivel crows foot. it extends, leave the garbage disposal alone for not , remove it as the very last resort Lowe's or Home depot
Don't borrow trouble. Work around it. Murphy's law of plumbing states that there are three trips to the hardware store for every plumbing job: one for the part you thought you needed, one for the part you really needed, and one for the part you broke. If the disposal wasn't installed during the time you lived in the house, then you don't know how long it has been there, and you have just moved your number of trips to the hardware store from three for the faucet to six for the combination of the faucet and the disposal.
If its in your way you might have to. but having the right tool for the right job is essential. there is a tool made exactly for this situation and i just had a brain fart and can't think of the name of it right now. but its your call and it all depends on your comfort level. i would say if you can work around it i would leave the garbage disposal alone. i have done a lot of plumbing work and found out the less you f with things you don't have to the better off you will be.oh i just remembered its a basin wrench. good luck.
