Question:

Saltwater Aquarium Nano Reef Care?

Hello :) I have a few questions concerning getting a nano reefIt is a Fluval Spec VAnyways, I plan on putting live rock, live sand, and a very low bio-load in itNo fish, just some shrimp, and a few snails for a clean up crewAnd you know. Some mushrooms and maybe some zoas if I can keep up with feeding the shrimp wellAlso maybe a torch coral on it's own rockSo,Will I need a protein skimmer for this? If so, do you have any suggestions? Will I need to use RO water? Or maybe some distilled water if I can get my hands on it? Or can I use tap water, add some conditioner, let is sit, mix some salt with it, and all that? With the filter system, will filter cartridges or bio-max media just keep Nitrates stuck in them? Or can I use some live rock shards in the filter? Can you give me some examples on how you do your filtering system? I also plan on using a power-headIf there is anything else I should know, please include it? Thank you!
