Should a motorcycle inadvertently go into a power-slide or a skid, which tires are known for safe recoveries?

Answer:

well most of it depends on the rider. if you think it might happen and you are somewhat ready you might recover if not your hitting the ground hard
If its going to kick out, it will do it with whatever tyres you have on.
Outside of the race track you shouldn't be pushing it that hard. the usual rule is to drive to the conditions of the road. On the track its all down to throttle control and knowing when to load and unload the front. Tyre choice is purely down to personal preference . the softer the tyre the more grip. the harder the tyre the longer it lasts. one thing for certain you are not going to get the same tyres they use on the track for your road bike. more often than not its the wrist not the tyre that causes High sides. And lack of front brake that causes low sides (or excessive braking)
